Seeking an experienced technician with an HNC or equivalent and a minimum of two years’ experience to work as part of a small team delivering highway maintenance works. Works include resurfacing using traditional materials and preventative maintenance techniques, analysing survey data to develop a prioritised programme, developing solutions to resolve drainage issues. Some Autocad experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide technical expertise and support to deliver highway maintenance services and assist in the management of the highway asset.
To take responsibility for highway drainage issues and assist in the development and delivery of the highway structural maintenance programme.
To maintain records of the highway drainage asset and receive and record all enquiries relating to drainage issues.
To take responsibility for highway drainage issues and assist in the development and delivery of the highway structural maintenance programme.

To assist in the production of the highway structural maintenance programme and to carry out and support survey work to determine highway condition and any maintenance works required.

Seeking an experienced Engineer with a relevant degree and a minimum of three years experience of maintaining highway structures. Experience of undertaking general and principal inspections, preparing specifications in accordance with the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works and administering contracts in accordance with the NEC suite of contracts. Some Autocad experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
To carry out engineering tasks associated with feasibility studies, appraisals, design, construction management, cost control and project management relating to maintenance of highway structures
To provide technical guidance for projects and programmes of inspection and maintenance on the Council’s highway and non-highway bridges and major structures
To assist in the production of an annual programme of inspections and to assist with appointing and managing specialist consultants when required.
To assist in managing the Council’s bridge and major structures highway stock, including analysing the stock condition and maintaining and updating the asset inventory.
To develop solutions for bridge maintenance and prepare specification documents
To undertake site supervision as required.

The Majority of schemes being developed by the team are for active travel, public transport, network management and road safety improvements and we would welcome applicants who have experience of the latest standards in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide technical expertise and support to support other internal teams in the development of future highways projects/programmes.
To take responsibility for the design of Highways improvement schemes with AutoCAD, to varying levels of detail subject to the scheme status.
Collecting and interpreting appropriate data for the development of schemes
Preparing programmes for scheme development and delivery.
To project manage schemes from conception to completion, in line with financial and time constraints set.
To engage with other internal and external stakeholders throughout the development of a scheme life cycle
Monitor and mange costs through project delivery and understand value engineering opportunities.
To prepare and administer engineering contracts for the delivery of works.
To supervise works through delivery on site, across a variety of procurement routes including with our in-house delivery teams.
To comply with all relevant H&S legislation and fulfil your duties under the CDM regulations
To liaise with the public and political members throughout a scheme’s development/delivery.

As part of the role, you’ll be carrying out day-to-day maintenance on all car park assets, including but not limited to, entry/exit barriers, pay on foot machines, pay and display machines both mains and solar powered, the intercom and communication systems and CCTV. You will also be carrying out lighting inspections, repair/replacement for our Multi Storey and surface Car Parks. You will be provided with a fully tooled fleet vehicle, smartphone, and laptop. The role also takes part in an on call out of hours rota which is paid for in addition to the basic salary offering the opportunity of further earnings.
